DecoBelle Lounge: Watching the sets / Film helyett a díszlet

Has it ever happened to you that while watching a movie, you wished for more shots of the sets instead of the characters? And not the beautiful scenery of a charming landscape, but interiors!
Well, this is exactly that happened when I first watched Something's Gotta Give by Nancy Meyers. The plot was quite amusing as well, but the interiors of the beach house where Diane Keaton's character spent most of her time writing her fictions was simply stunning! This was the point when my affection towards white furniture started. And it still lasts, anyone can tell by looking at our home:) I watched the movie again and again so that I can remember all the tiny details of the interiors.
And a few years later, another movie had the same effect on me. I was watching the movie, liked the story and the characters, but the real big thing was the set again. And what a surprise! It's Complicated is also a movie by Nancy Meyers. Meryl Streep's Spanish style California home has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that any family would appreciate. Funny thing, that all through the movie she is planning on remodelling the house, adding new rooms to it (though she divorced and her children has grown up). Anyway, the living room and the kitchen / dining room where most of the movie takes place are perfect for me as they are. Not to mention the potager garden, but I think I'll cover that in an other post.
As I mentioned, both movies were written and directed by Nancy Meyers and the set designer /decorator was Beth Rubino. The two of them always seem to place characters in stylish homes which makes the movies more enjoyable. Before I started looking for photos of the interiors to attach to this post, I thought that I am the only one obsessed with the homes of these two movies, but it turned out that there are lots of articles, blogs, forums dealing with the movies from the interior design aspect. Both movies have set a trend in interior design and homeowners often ask professionals to create similar interiors for their homes. Look at the photos and get inspired!

Történt már veled, hogy néztél egy filmet és közben azon kaptad magad, hogy nem is a történet köt le igazán, hanem a díszletként szolgáló lakás/ház/szoba részleteit igyekszel jól megjegyezni?

Hát velem pontosan ez történt, amikor pár éve megnéztem a "Minden végzet nehéz" című filmet. Jó volt a történet is, szenzációsak a színészek, a kutyaszemű Keanu Reeves mosolya szokás szerint hódító volt, de ami igazán lekötött az a tengerparti ház berendezésének részletes tanulmányozása. Azt hiszem akkor kezdtem igazán beleszeretni a fehér bútorokba (ez a vonzalom még mindig tart, ez az otthonunkon jól látható). A Diane Keaton által játszott hősnő nappalija, hálója, konyhája, dolgozószobája minden részletében olyan tökéletes, hogy nálam ez az "álomotthon".

Ez egészen a tavalyi évig így is volt, amikor is megnéztem az "Egyszerűen bonyolult" című másik kedvencemet. Azért ennek a "díszlet-otthonnak" nem sikerült teljesen letaszítania a trónról a tengerparti házat, de a Meryl Streep által játszott elvált, sok gyerekes anya otthonát is bármikor elfogadnám;) Ebben a történetben kicsit vicces számomra, hogy az elvált, egyedülálló nő, akinek lassan kirepülnek a gyerekei, lelkesen tervezi a ház átalakítását, kibővítését. Mindenesetre a konyha/étkező és a nappali stílusa, ahol a belső jelenetek többsége játszódik nekem nagyon tetszik. Kicsit vidékies, súlyos fa ajtók, mindenhol jellemző a sok kő és fa, a veranda fala, padlózata is kövezett, a színek sötétebbek mint a tengerparti ház esetében, de talán ettől olyan nagyon otthonos, családias, nekem kicsit "borvidéki hangulatot" árasztó ez az otthon.

Szóval két jó film, két csodaszép stílusos ház ugyanattól az író/rendezőtől (Nancy Meyers) és díszlet-tervezőtől/berendezőtől (Beth Rubino). Ők ketten úgy látszik különösen nagy hangsúlyt fektetnek arra, hogy a történetek szereplőit nagyon ízlésesen kialakított "díszletek" közé helyezzék, ezzel még élvezetesebbé téve a filmeket.

Mielőtt elkezdtem képeket keresni az interneten ehhez a témához, azt gondoltam, hogy én vagyok nagyjából az egyetlen, aki ennyire odavan a két filmben látható "díszlet-otthonokért", de kiderült, hogy rengeteg cikk, blog, fórum foglalkozik a két filmmel lakberendezési szempontból. A két film divatot teremtett és a lakberendezők gyakran kapnak felkéréseket a Meyers-filmekben látott két otthon stílusához hasonló berendezés megtervezésére. Végül pedig jöjjenek a fotók. Hátha más is kedvet kap...
